摘要：科技论文发表的数量在过去的几十年间迅速增长，尤其是在国内优势的材料，化学，生物领域，科研论文产出的增长更要明显高于平均水平。虽然不断有新刊推出，但稿件在投稿过程中面临的竞争却越来越激烈。如何才能提高稿件被录用机会？作为一名全职编辑，我将向大家简要介绍我们的期刊以及近年来在Wiley材料及生命科学相关期刊上的论文发表趋势。其次，我将从编辑的角度向大家介绍Wiley期刊稿件处理的流程，例如，如何对稿件进行初审，如何寻找合适的审稿人，以及收到审稿意见后如何对稿件做出决定等等。最后，我会给出一些在投稿过程中需要注意的事项和建议，希望对年轻科研工作者撰写和发表论文有所帮助。

Xi Wen received her B.Sc. from Xiamen University, China, and obtained Ph.D on microbiology at the University of Hong Kong. She worked as a post-doc at NIAID/NIH (cell biology) and Boston University (biomedical engineering) before joining Wiley. Title: Publishing in Wiley Material & Life Science Journals
Abstract:
A highly competitive research environment with increasingly limited research funding has created a "Publish or Perish" attitude among scientists who are judged on both the quantity and the quality of their research articles. This presentation provides a brief overview of recent development of scientific publishing, Wiley material and life science journal profile, and how manuscripts are handled by in-house editorial staff (including prescreening, finding referees and making decision on referees’ reports). Tips will be presented on how to select an appropriate journal for your paper, what aspects of preparation and presentation to focus on from an editor’s and referee’s perspective, and how to increase the visibility of your paper after publication.
